Sept 23 - PrideFest

Richmond’s Annual PrideFest will be held at Brown’s Island. RCRD will have a booth where you can come and purchase some of our merch to support your favorite local roller derby team. All proceeds from merchandise purchased go towards financially supporting our league. We always love to uplift and participate in Richmond’s beautiful queer community and we are excited to be returning to PrideFest this year!

Sept 26 & 27 - State Fair

RCRD Volunteers at the State Fair every year slinging beers and generally assisting in the merriment put on by the VA State Fair. It’s always a great time; find us wearing our RCRD shirts if you want to come say hello while we’re working!

Oct 7 & 8 - People’s Battle of Richmond

Get excited for more info regarding our first ever PBR Tournament in October’s BRUISELETTER!

September Fundraiser: PBR 5k

This is our inaugural presentation of the PBR tournament, and we couldn't be more excited to have the opportunity to host a premier roller derby event in the River City. We need the help of our supporters by raising funds to help cover the costs of operating this event! Folks can create a participant page here and then spread the word of the event by running a 5K in their own time and tagging RCRD to show off your results! As always, we appreciate the love and support of our fans, family, friends, and the RVA community!

Recap: Summer Shovin’ Double Header

A huge thanks to everyone who came out to support us at our Summer Shovin’ Double Header. We had the best time, first with a scrimmage between the Pink Slaydies and the T-Birds followed by a mixer game between The Sunshiners and The Shady Beaches. We had a blast, and a special shoutout to our raffle winners who won our cooler full of summer goodies!

Community Spotlight

Have you heard about HOTCHKISS? The brand new outdoor skating rink at Hotchkiss Park & Community Center - finally, a beautiful outdoor skate space created by Taron Sparks, aka Silly Genius, in partnership with Reclaiming The Monument, All City Art Club, and RVA Parks & Rec.
