Join us for rookie orientation August 3rd and 4th! 🗓️Sunday, August 3rd, 8-10am 🗓️Monday, August 4th, 6-7:30pm 📍Rollerdome, 4902 Williamsburg Rd, Richmond, VA 📝 Please fill out the form under "Rookie Registration" in our bio before orientation! It is not required to attend both orientation sessions, but try to come to both if you’re able. 🪖We have gear and skates available for new skaters to borrow if you need them (just don’t forget socks)! There are no startup costs for orientation. 🛼 If you can’t skate, our fantastic rookie coaches will teach ya! Folks start derby at ALL stages & ages and we’d love to have you regardless of your skill level or age (as long as you are 18 or older). 💦 Wear clothes you can get sweaty in and bring lots of water! Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate! 🥊 Don’t worry about throwing hits on day one! We start with skating and safety skills first and foremost. There will be no hitting for a good long while, and certainly not at orientation! 🦓Not every role in the league requires playing the sport. Folks who are interested in becoming referees and non-skating officials are also welcome to join us at orientation!
